Age Verification Policy

1) 19+ age-gate

• We require users to confirm they are 19+ when creating an account and/or entering the service.
• We may display additional prompts where required for certification or risk checks.
• If we suspect a user is under 19, we may restrict access while verification is completed.

2) How and when we verify age

We may verify age at sign-up, before granting certain features, when account activity suggests a higher risk of underage use, or at any time to meet legal, platform, or certification requirements.

• Account checks: date-of-birth validation, email/phone checks, device and fraud signals, and consistency checks across account data.
• Document checks (where applicable): we may request evidence of age (e.g., passport, Canada driver licence, or other government-issued ID). We may also ask for a selfie/liveness check to reduce impersonation.
• Third-party verification: we may use specialist providers to confirm age/identity. They act on our instructions and must protect your data.

We only request information reasonably necessary to verify age/identity and to prevent fraud. We handle personal information in line with Canada privacy requirements and retain it only as long as needed for verification, security, dispute handling, and record-keeping.

3) If verification fails or is refused

• If you are under 19, your account will be closed and access permanently restricted.
• If you do not provide requested verification within a reasonable timeframe, we may suspend or close your account.
• If we believe documents are altered, misleading, or belong to someone else, we may suspend/close the account and block related accounts/devices.

4) How we avoid marketing to minors

• We do not knowingly target or direct advertising to people under 19.
• Where available, we use platform age-targeting and audience restrictions (19+), and we exclude youth-oriented interests and placements.
• Our creatives avoid youth-focused themes and do not depict minors.
• Partners/affiliates must use 19+ placement rules and must not market on channels primarily directed at minors.
